Ant and Dec forced to halt ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway

Ant and Dec appeared to have a few technical issues during this week’s episode of Saturday Night Takeaway. And they did not go unnoticed by the viewers.

During the show on March 26, after it had been pulled for the Six Nations Rugby last week, a number of different segments in the show went slightly wrong. At one point, the show cut to the wrong family during a free holiday giveaway moment, the M.E.N reports.

Fans were ‘tickled’ when the camera cut to a household who appeared baffled during the Happiest Minute of the Week segment before it quickly cut to another family who were jumping up in excitement in their living room. In this segment the hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly celebrate people who have done extraordinary things and give away free holidays.

In another part of the show, the host had to restart a game of Read My Lips. The game featured members of the public reading out a list of famous TV shows via a video link to the Line of Duty star, Anna Maxwell Martin in the studio, wearing headphones so she couldn’t hear them.

When the third player came on, instead of TV shows such as Anna’s Line of Duty, she mouthed the names of foods including nachos and biriyani. The two presenters stepped in and called for her to stop and it was explained that she had been given the wrong list.

The show seemed to have a few technical issues throughout.

A number of viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the blunders. During the ‘Happiest Minute’ segment, one viewer wrote: “No way did they show the wrong family”.

Another said: “So many technical screw ups tonight, which (amazingly!) rarely happens. Did someone spill some coffee on the board or something? #SaturdayNightTakeaway.” A third added: “I mean could anything else go wrong. Absolutely tickling me.”

“SaturdayNightTakeaway they’re having a bit of a mare this week! Shopping lists and cutting to the wrong bloody house!” Tweeted one viewer. Although the show appeared to be riddled with mistakes, it clearly made for an entertaining watch for some.
