Armed police rush to scene after teenager stabbed

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was stabbed in Leicester this morning (November 28).

An armed response unit rushed to a property on Imperial Avenue at 10.59am following reports of an incident.

On arrival, officers found a 19-year-old male suffering from knife wounds.

East Midlands Ambulance Service were also in attendance and the man was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

He has since been discharged from hospital.

A crime scene remains in place on Imperial Avenue.

Detective Sergeant Dan Cumpsty said: “Officers continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and officers also remain at the scene offering reassurance.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area of Imperial Avenue between 7am and 11am this morning (Saturday) to think back to anything they may have seen or heard which could assist our enquiries.

“We are also appealing to anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to get in touch with us as we continue to investigate this incident.”

A 22-year-old man, of Leicester, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident. He currently remains in
