Daniel Amartey makes his first Leicester City start in 23 months as Brendan Rodgers makes 11 changes for the Carabao Cup tie against Arsenal.
Amartey has not played a senior competitive match since breaking his ankle against West Ham in October 2018, the night in which the club’s chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha died in a helicopter crash.
The Ghanaian could either feature on the right of a back four, or in a back three.
Elsewhere, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall makes his first-ever start for City, having made his senior debut for the club in January. He will be in the midfield with Hamza Choudhury and James Maddison.
If it’s a three, Thomas will be at left-wing-back, with Marc Albrighton on the right.
Demarai Gray, who could be making one of his final City appearances with doubts over his future, also starts, and could either be out wide or up front depending on the formation. Kelechi Iheanacho is also included, with Danny Ward in goal.
City (predicted 3-4-1-2): Ward; Amartey, Morgan, Fuchs; Albrighton, Choudhury, Dewsbury-Hall, Thomas; Maddison; Gray, Iheanacho.
Subs: Jakupovic, Knight, Justin, Tielemans, Praet, Barnes, Perez.
Arsenal (predicted 3-4-3): Leno; Holding, Luiz, Kolasinac; Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Willock, Saka; Pepe, Nketiah, Nelson.
Subs: Runarsson, Bellerin, Saliba, Ceballos, Xhaka, Willian, Lacazette.
