The event hopes to bring the community together
Live music and food will be on offer at a free Leicestershire festival this weekend. The event is aimed at families and aims to bring a “spectacular day” of “fun, flavour and festivities”.
The Family Festival Market will take place at Newmarket, in Coalville’s Marlborough Square and will see a variety of activities taking place, including family-friendly games. The festival will feature live music, as well as “mouth-watering” food stalls which will serve up treats for all ages.
Newmarket are hosting the event as a “perfect send-off” to the summer in wake of the arrival of autumn. The day hopes to “celebrate community and connection” as well as “good old-fashioned fun”.
The market building, which replaced Coalville’s former Market Hall, has a variety of both permanent and casual traders which include The Handmade Brownie Company and Kool Guys Ice Cream. There is also a boutique “specialist” chocolatier, The House Of Cocoa.
Newmarket is open throughout the week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 9am till 4pm. The area also has a record store called Foss Records, and a handmade gift shop, CCBG Handcrafted Gifts.
The Newmarket Family Festival Market takes place this Saturday (October 4) and runs from 9am till 4pm.
