Organisers of two hugely popular Leicester festivals have announced plans for next year’s events. Big Difference Company has revealed that the Leicester Comedy Festival Gala Preview Show will take place at De Montfort Hall on Friday, January 12, 2024.
In addition, the UK Kids’ Comedy Festival will also get its own Gala Preview Show for the first time. This will take place at the Y Theatre on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
The Leicester Comedy Festival gala show began in 2002 and is a chance for audiences to preview acts from across the festival. Always a sell-out, the show has previously featured appearances from Jimmy Carr, Sarah Millican, Sue Perkins, Rosie Jones, Jenny Éclair and Milton Jones. Acts due to appear at this year’s show will be announced in the coming months.
The UK Kid’s Comedy Festival preview show promises to peel back the curtain to reveal some of the most exciting acts coming to perform at The UK Kids’ Comedy Festival in 2024. The line-up of big names, familiar faces and rising stars in children’s comedy will be revealed soon.
Leicester Comedy Festival is billed as Europe’s biggest and longest-running comedy festival, and celebrated its 30th year in 2023 and featured 870 comedians performing at 630 events. The UK’s only comedy festival for kids is celebrated its fifth year in 2023 and featured 74 events in 29 venues.
Next year’s dates for Leicester Comedy Festival and the UK Kids’ Comedy Festival are February 7 to 25, 2024. Tickets for the preview shows are now on sale via the festival websites.
