Owners of a well-known Leicester restaurant have today announced its permanent closure. North Bar and Kitchen, in Hinckley Road, will welcome its final customers next month.
The restaurant is run by co-owners Sally Davis and Joanna Betts and serves British food with a French twist. The venue is also famed for its range of 42 gins including the restaurant’s own brand, North42 Gin, inspired by the restaurant’s rhubarb tumble cocktail.
A statement, attributed to owners Sally and Joanna and ‘the North team’, was posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page, announcing the closure. The post said: “After eight successful years of providing high quality service, food and drinks to you all, we would like to let you all know that North will be closing its doors on Sunday 3rd July 2022.
“This has not been an easy decision to make and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us for the past 8 years. We are very honoured and humbled from the support, love, custom and memories customers and friends have experienced at North with us.
“We have contacted all customers who have booked in for the dates after we are closed. Our last day of service will be next week Sunday 3rd July and we would love to see you all for our last weekend of service whether it is dining or popping in for a drink or two!”
They went on to say that the North42 Gin brand will continue, and that they would love to see customers at their recently purchased hotel, Burlington Berties Boutique Hotel in Sherringham.
