A level crossing in the county is to shut to motorists and pedestrians while Network Rail carries out inspection work.
Normanton Lane in Bottesford in the Vale of Belvoir will be closed from 8am on Monday, November 16, and it is expected to stay shut until about 4pm the same day.
The work will mean traffic taking a 12-mile, 24-minute diversion via Orston and Staunton in the Vale.
Why has that road been closed?
Leicestershire County Council said in a statement: “The purpose of the Temporary Traffic Regulation Order is to allow Network Rail to undertake culvert inspections at the level crossing.
“The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will incorporate a temporary road closure.
“The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day.
“Due to the nature of the work, emergency and pedestrian access cannot be maintained.”
The order is set to be confirmed two weeks prior to the inspection going ahead.
