Merger Creates one of the Largest Credit Unions in the Midlands!

Clockwise Credit Union, based in Leicester City Centre, has flourished over the past decade and expanded its membership to provide ethical financial products and services to over 16,500 members across Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire and now Coventry and Warwickshire.

On the 4th October, Clockwise and New Central Credit Union, based in Coventry, merged to become one of the largest community credit unions in the Midlands, with 20,000 members, savings of £11.7m, a combined loan book £7m and assets of £13.5m. Clockwise is delighted to welcome our four new colleagues in Coventry and gain an office in the city centre.

Teresa Manning, CEO of Clockwise Credit Union said, ‘we are really pleased that the merger has come together. Through our digital solutions, financial and management systems, Clockwise aim to vastly improve the services to New Central Credit Union members.  We can improve the provision of affordable and ethical financial services throughout Coventry and Warwickshire, where credit union membership is relatively low. And in broadening our geographical base, widening the positive social impact credit union products and services have on a local economy and in supporting the financial wellbeing of the local community. We are all hugely excited about the future of Clockwise’
