Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and more recall items

UK supermarkets are recalling a number of items over safety fears and shoppers have been told to return the items now to get a full refund.

The products are sold at supermarkets, including Morrisons, Aldi and Tesco, Liverpool Echo reports.

The items include food that could contain plastic and dates that could be infected with hepatitis A.

Trading Standards said : “Product recalls are made by traders about products that have problems which could affect the safety of the consumer. The product should not be used and should be returned to the trader.”

These are the items being recalled:

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s is taking the precautionary action of recalling Taste the Difference Medjool dates because they might be contaminated with hepatitis A.

These products might be contaminated with hepatitis A.

Symptoms caused by hepatitis A usually include fever, nausea, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, dark-coloured urine and jaundice (a yellowing of the skin).

If you have bought these products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.

Aldi

Aldi is recalling Harvest Morn Crisp Rice cereal as the box may contain small pieces of plastic.

Customers are advised not to eat this product.

Asda

Asda is recalling a single date code of Asda 2 Original Chicken Chargrills 170g due to the possible presence of Salmonella.

No other date codes or Asda brand products are known to be affected.

Cow & Gate

Nutricia is recalling Cow & Gate and Aptamil Muesli products because some packs have been found to contain pieces of apple stalks.

The presence of the apple stalks presents a choking hazard to babies making these products unsafe to eat.

This is an update to the recall of the same products on 15/01/2021 as two of the products were rereleased in error.

This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
