Must see Leicester Market stalls to visit on your next trip to the city centre

Traders have expressed fears about the future after moving to Green Dragon Square

Leicester Market is bustling with stalls, stocked and ready to serve local customers. But recently traders spoke to Leicestershire Live about their ‘fears’ regarding the future.

Last November, traders were made to move to Green Dragon Square as a result of a £7.5 million revamp to the original market area. However, traders have said that their footfall has significantly fallen due to the lack of advertisement and some traders say they have been forced to close because they are struggling to afford the rent.

Some traders even said that they have had to pick up a second job to make ends meet. But Leicester Market is engrained in the fabric of the city, not just because of what it offers residents, but because of its rich history and significance to the people of Leicester.
