Sweet-toothed Hinckley residents will soon be able to treat themselves at new eatery Waffles Emporium. The latest addition to Regent Street, in the town centre, is set to open later this month.
The shop is being launched by 19-year-old entrepreneur Evan Richardson, who started the business as a dessert delivery service in July 2021. According to Evan, he came up with the idea for the business when he was just 17.
He spent time researching and planning before he launched Waffles Emporium from his Hinckley home. Having proved popular with delivery customers, Evan is now bringing his desserts to the heart of Hinckley.

Customers will be able to take their pick from a huge range of waffles, crêpes, brownies, sundaes and milkshakes. According to Evan, his “extravagant” desserts come in generous sizes and are top quality.
“My waffles are always made with fresh ingredients including fresh fruits. The waffles are light and airy with a nice buttery taste so they are more towards the American-style waffles,” he says.
Evan, who previously worked at a couple of other dessert parlours, before going it alone adds: “I found I had a passion for the job. I loved making desserts and creating crazy menu items and giving customers the best experience was a great feeling.”
Waffles Emporium will be mainly a takeaway shop, but will have a small seating area. Evan is hoping to hold a soft launch on Friday, November 18.
