A woman was punched in the face and pushed to the ground in the street near a city hospital.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was assaulted around 11pm on Friday, April 9, on Walnut Street, near the junction with Havelock Street, next to Leicester Royal Infirmary.
A 26-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail as police continue their inquiries.
Officers believe a number of cars passed by while the assault was taking place and are looking for anyone who has footage of the incident.
Also, a woman who is thought to have been standing nearby at the time has been urged to come forward with information.
Pc Elliot Gooden, the investigating officer, said: “From inquiries carried out to date, I believe there were a number of cars that passed by while this incident occurred.
“I would like to speak to anyone with dashcam footage or anyone who saw what happened.
“I also believe there was a woman stood near the Leicester Royal Infirmary at the time and who witnessed the incident.
“Any information you have could help my investigation.”
