New Leicestershire bakery to open this week – and it’s offering free sausage rolls

‘Famous’ hot pies, pastries and sweet bakery treats will also be on the menu

A new bakery – the first of its kind in Leicestershire – is offering free sausage rolls to its first 100 customers when it opens later this week.

Wrights is to open its first store in the county on Friday (March 27) and will serve up the chain’s “famous” hot pies, pastries, freshly made sandwiches, pizza and sweet bakery treats.

The bakery will be located at The Stage Services, in Wigston’s Leicester Road, inside a 2,300 square foot unit with a 40-seat dining area.

The opening will mark Wrights’ 23rd UK store, with the brand founded in 1926 in Stoke-on-Trent.

Brand Director at Wrights, Jason Manley, said: “We’re excited to be bringing our famous hot savoury pies and bakes to Leicester for the first time and are pleased to be welcoming new colleagues to the Wrights family.

“We’re incredibly proud of the business we’ve created – we do things the ‘Wright’ way, putting heart and soul into everything we create, whether that’s the quality ingredients we use, the attention we put into perfecting our pastry or the warm welcome customer experience from our staff.

“We hope that the folk of Leicester value that as much as we do.”

The first 100 people through the door will be able to enjoy a free sausage roll on opening day.

Wrights also said that additional sampling may take place later on in the day, subject to availability.

Joe Hockenhull, managing director at Hockenhull Garages which owns The Stage Services, added: “We’re looking forward to bringing Wright’s famous pies and pastries to our Wigston site.

“Working with a brand that embodies family values like ours was a non-negotiable when it came to looking for the right food partner, and we believe this collaboration with Wrights will help us build from strength to strength.”
