A quirky, “one-of-a-kind” 90s-themed getaway bus has landed in Leicestershire aimed at transporting guests back to the iconic decade.
Positioned in the heart of the countryside the bus promises a unique, “off-grid” escape for couples, families, friends and those keen to relive a time before smartphones took over.
The spot named “That 90s Bus” is decorated with bold prints and iconic posters, is fitted with neon lighting throughout to create a vibrant and nostalgic atmosphere for those inside.
Located north of Hinckley between the villages of Stapleton and Dadlington, the bus sleeps up to five people.
Behind the driver’s seat is a living area which features a sofa that converts to a sofa bed.
The retro-chic bus has a fully equipped kitchen with a two-ring hob, a fridge with a mini freezer and a sink.
Beside the countertop, which has a jar of popular 90s sweets including Love Hearts and Wham bars upon it, is a four-seater dining table.
A bedroom area with a double bed and funky decor, including 90s Trolls on a shelf, sits toward the rear of the bus which is also fitted with built-in bunk beds.
The bus is fitted with a bathroom area that provides a sink and an eco-friendly, waterless composting toilet as well as a shower.
With the absence of screens guests will not be short on entertainment as they can enjoy a range of retro games including Cluedo, Go For Broke and more.
The bus also has its very own pet Tamagotchi to keep visitors busy with friendship bracelet making accessories also on-board.
At the side of the bus is also a rear garden area with seating and a firepit as well as outdoor games among the panoramic countryside views.
Amenities on the bus are powered by solar and warmed using gas heating.
For those interested in going further afield, the bus is around a 30 minute drive from Drayton Manor Resort and a 20 minute journey from Twycross Zoo.
The bus, listed on Airbnb, was renovated by Rachel Shuker and her partner Alex Cox.
Rachel said: “After a gruelling three years, new baby and countless things going wrong we managed to renovate a bus in our spare time into 90s themed off-grid accommodation.
“It’s now up and running and we welcomed our first guests last week.”
The Airbnb listing adds: “Relive the 90s or share it with the next generation!
“Now this is a story all about how you can stay in our bus, we’ll tell you now.
“Think retro nostalgia meets rural, off-grid escape, where cassette tapes, neon hues, and retro games set the tone for a one-of-a- kind experience.
“A unique stay for couples, families and friends to disconnect, reconnect, or simply try something wildly unconventional. That 90s Bus invites you to enjoy time together. As if!
“Nah, forget it, yo, Holmes, to Bel Air!””
