New series of Johnny Vegas’ Channel 4 Carry on Glamping featuring site near Ashby to air next year

A Channel 4 show featuring comedian Johnny Vegas’ Field of Dreams glamping site near Ashby is set to air next year. The second series of Carry on Glamping has recently finished filming at Melbourne Hall, which has been the home of the Field of Dreams site since earlier this year.

The Field of Dreams at Melbourne Hall opened in April, and offers a unique glamping experience consisting of eight restored and converted vehicles. A German fire truck, Patricia the bus, an American school bus and a classic Citroen Camper feature, along with a hybrid of a 1970 Morris Minor Pick-Up and a 1960 Fisher Holivan Junior caravan, a rare 1964 Austin J2 Bluebird Highwayman, boat Mahala, and even a Puma plane.

The first series of Carry on Glamping followed Johnny, his assistant Bev and a gang of vintage bus enthusiasts as the comedian opened his original Yorkshire glampsite in 2021. It became a success with plenty of bookings, but ambitions for a bigger site meant Johnny needed to move on.

Having performed at Live at Melbourne Hall in May 2022, Johnny approached the hall’s owner Lord Kerr with the idea of bringing his Field of Dreams to the grounds of the stately home. The second series of Carry On Glamping continues to follow Johnny and his long-suffering assistant Bev with the setting up of the site at Melbourne Hall.

Updating fans via Johnny Vegas’ Facebook page, his assistant Bev said: “Thanks for all the lovely comments, guys. So happy you like what Johnny, Jim and Claire have created with their quirky vehicles at the Field Of Dreams.

“Series 2 of Carry On Glamping has finished filming and will be on C4 early next year. The guests who’ve stayed at the site this season have loved their stays. We’ve still got some two night midweek stays available until the end of September.”
