An amazing and paw-some sponsored walk is coming to Belvoir Castle this month. People are urged to get their legs and their four-legged friends’ ready for the important event.
The Great British Dog Walk is a sponsored walk aimed at transforming the lives of people with hearing loss. Belvoir Castle is one of a number of locations across the UK taking part in the event, with the grounds of the historic castle set to welcome in hundreds for the invisible disability awareness event.
People are now being urged to bring along their prized pooch and take part in either a sponsored 3km shorter route or 8km scene route walk all in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Funds will help go to train more amazing hearing dogs for those in need.

Hearing dogs not only alert their owners to important and life-saving sounds but also help break down social barriers for deaf people. Those who take part in the sponsored dog walk are not only raising awareness and funds for the good cause, but will allow people to connect with other dog walkers.
The walk takes place on Sunday, April 21, with people urged to sign up now. Those who do still have a chance at claiming a free dog bandana to make the sponsored walk all the more special. Belvoir Castle is also hosting a number of events on the day, with fun games and a have-a-go dog agility course on offer too.
The sponsored walk begins at 11am with a mass start. Registration is open from 10am to 11.30am, and there’s a dog show at 10.30am. Those interested in taking part can choose to walk as part of a large group of walkers and dogs, or with your own family and friends.
Tickets cost £12 online (£15 on the day), and children under 16 can join for free. More information, including how to book a place now, can be found on the Great British Dog Walk website.
